If you wish to divulge more information about yourself, feel free to do so. After all in my mind’s eye you are still that little girl in frilly socks and pigtails, waiting besides me. I wonder if you grew into a butterfly or a moth. I would ask for a picture, but I would never be allowed to keep it. Such things are luxury that society has denied me. Back to business: where did you study, under who and why this and not a BA in English or hairdressing?
Now in regards to your ‘ethical stance’, I have to argue that all notorious experiments all began with the same dribble you just gave me. No one thought anyone would be hurt in the Stanford prison experiment (I assume you’ve heard of it or don’t they teach you anything other than Freudian psychology.) You see morals are equivalent to wine Miss Atkinson. Preserved and maintained correctly they will span centuries. Buddha, Jesus of Nazareth, Kant, Bentham… the list goes on of people whose concept of morality has lasted. But like wine a person’s morals will never die, they just wait to go sour. How many people have died fighting for the ideals I have just presented? What price have people paid to ensure that their way of life continues? You claim to be doing this for ‘greater knowledge’ a fine path to lead one’s life. The problem is would you ever run out of questions? Keeping rolling a boulder up a hill and just as you think you’ve broken the peak, it leads only to a steeper hill to climb.
I think you may have also misunderstood why I’m telling you my story rather than a journalist. They have agendas to suit their market. One would say I was left wing, the other right. One would say I was a Muslim and another homosexual. One may say I’m sane and innocent, while the others continue the panto lines. Whatever sells the most papers is the story. What you have to understand is that if you are a success, then you make both of us famous. That we will echo into eternity together as a footnote for other students, psychologist and pop culture junkies. I know you want more than to be a footnote though Miss Atkinson. You have another reason to speak to me. You can say you’re not playing game, but that was a terrible bluff. I did not get as far as I did on luck, though my capture was a fluke. The wrong place at the wrong time. Quite poetic considering that was how I chose my victims. Out of morbid curiosity which was your ‘favourite’ victim of mine?
PS ‘Human being to human being’ I reread that a hundred times. You can be quite intimate when you want to be Emma.
